The Journey So Far

From our early school outreaches in Ghana to our growing impact in Uganda, the story continues to prove that with faith, focus, and purpose, one small seed of hope can transform lives across nations.

2017

In the beginning...

During a gap year at home, I began volunteering and teaching at a local community school. That experience opened my eyes to how many young people face the same fears I once did, gifted but limited by circumstance.

2021

Mentorship Impact Experience

We offered a mentorship program that connected young individuals with experienced professionals in their chosen fields. The goal was to ensure that students, having received proper guidance and insights, transition smoothly into the professional world and thrive as early-career professionals.

2025

Living Hope Christian High School

This wasn’t just a school visit — it was a heartfelt mission to empower, encourage, and elevate the minds of young students. Alongside some amazing friends and team members, we had the privilege of engaging these bright minds through career & personal counselling.

How it all began...

Hephzy Scholars Counselling Foundation (HSCF) was born in 2017 from a place of humility, faith, and hope.

At just 17, I knew what it felt like to wonder if my dreams would ever come true, having grown up in a modest rural community in Abuja, Nigeria, surrounded by resilience but facing limitations.

During a gap year, volunteering at a local community school opened my eyes to how many young people faced the same fears I once did.

Today, as a Software Engineer, the burden to give back remains constant. That passion became a calling—a desire to create a structured system of hope, mentorship, and opportunity for others like me.

What does it mean to be a volunteer with HSCF?

Volunteers help us run programs, support events, capture media, mentor students, or assist with admin/communications. You’re part of a team helping students dream bigger and access opportunities.

What time commitment is required?

Flexible! You can serve short-term (e.g., at events) or long-term (e.g., as a mentor, campaign support, or program lead).

Do I need to be in Africa to volunteer?

No. While our students are based in Africa, our volunteers are global. You can support virtually (mentorship calls, webinars, fundraising) or in person (during outreach visits).

Do volunteers get training or guidance?

Yes! We provide an orientation pack and ongoing guidance. You’ll also be paired with team leads when working on specific projects.

What do members/partners get in return?

Beyond impact, you gain experience in project work, leadership, networking, and the joy of seeing students’ lives transformed. We also celebrate our volunteers regularly!
